Dotted Circles: The Digital Take!

Scarcity and struggle are (often) the cradle of creativity.

What Prompted me to Create New Digital Art?

A few weeks ago I was approached by a company that wanted to license some of my pieces they had found on Saatchi. They required high-definition photographs of my art for printing. I have been meaning to invest in a DSLR camera for years but there has always been “something” coming up: you know… LIFE

For a few days, I tried to figure out ways or find someone who could lend me a camera; unfortunately, I was unsuccessful at it. Frustrated, yet determined to find solutions, I decided to look for other options: maybe I could edit some pictures digitally with Photoshop and Lightroom, and get better quality pictures? It still was not good enough for the company.

How did I Create a new Collection of Digital Paintings?

Finally, I thought I decided to see if I could do something in Adobe Illustrator. After all, this is the tool I am the most comfortable with and pretty skilled if I may say so myself. I started to brainstorm and after spending a few days trying out new things I was able to come up with digital versions of my dotted circles. Here’s my take:

Of course, they are a bit different from my originals (that was expected) but I have to say I love the result! I was so excited that I printed a few and have them for sale at the Sistrunk Kollective!

What do you think?

*If you have seen my acrylic painting on Saatchi, maybe you will recognize some of them and then some*
